Oriente Campus History

The original building of Oriente Campus dates from 1926. In its beginnings it housed the Convent of the Congregation and the College of the Nuns of the Sacred Heart. In 1971 it passed into the hands of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and during the seventies, eighties and part of the nineties, it hosted several humanist programs.

Now, the university is developing a large-scale project that seeks to revitalize this traditional headquarters with immense patrimonial value. The construction of a new extension center –similar to Alameda–, will include an events center and a language center, among other training and entertainment spaces.
